There is something so peaceful and serene about being in nature, surrounded by trees, fresh air, and wildlife. And what could be more fun than camping? Sleeping in a tent, cooking over a fire, and using the great outdoors as your bathroom! Just kidding. But seriously, camping can be a blast if you know how to have fun. Here are 11 activities to do when camping, according to people who have never been camping.

1. Make S’mores!

What’s more perfect than gooey marshmallows and chocolate melted between two graham crackers? Just be sure to keep an eye on those marshmallows so they don’t catch on fire!

2. Go For A Hike!

Campgrounds are usually located near some pretty neat trails. Get out there and explore! Just be sure to stay on the trail and don’t get lost.

3. Tell Ghost Stories Around The Campfire!

This is the perfect opportunity to share some scary stories with your friends. But don’t forget the most important rule of ghost stories: always say “This is just a story, it isn’t true!” at the end so nobody gets too scared.

4. Go Fishing!

If there’s a lake or river nearby, go try your hand at fishing! You might even catch dinner. Just be sure to check the local regulations to make sure you can fish in that area and have a valid fishing license.

5. Roast Hot Dogs Or Veggies On The Campfire!

This is an easy way to cook dinner without having to bring along a lot of kitchen supplies. Just skewer your food items on a stick and hold it over the flames until it’s cooked to your liking. Be careful not to burn yourself!

6. Play Some Games! Cards

Frisbee golf, cornhole, horseshoes… there are lots of games you can play while camping. Games are a great way to pass the time when you’re not doing other activities like hiking or fishing.  And if it rains, games can be a great indoor activity too.

7 . Stargaze!

One of the best things about camping is being able to see all the stars at night. Lie on your back and look up at the sky – you might even see a shooting star!  Just be sure you know where you are in relation to your campsite so you don’t get lost if you have to walk back in the dark.

8 . Enjoy The Peace And Quiet!

One of the best things about being in nature is that it gives you a chance to disconnect from technology and clear your mind. Take some time during your trip to just sit and appreciate your surroundings – you might be surprised at how relaxing it can be.  Of course, if you get too relaxed, make sure somebody knows where you are in case you fall asleep!

9 . Take Lots Of Pictures!

Camping trips make for great photo opportunities – landscapes, wildlife, sunsets… there are endless possibilities. Just make sure you have enough batteries or memory cards so you don’t run out of space before the trip is over.

10 . Journal About Your Experience!

This is a great way to remember all the details of your trip long after it’s over.

11 . Enjoy Watching Wildlife Which Is Personally My Favorite Thing To Do!

Watching wildlife is an amazing activity, and truly take it in!  PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL AND DON'T FEED THEM AND GIVE THEM PROPER SPACE SO EVERYONE STAYS SAFE!!

Final thoughts!

Whether you’re an experienced camper or someone who has never set foot outside before, spending time in nature can be a lot of fun. There are endless activities to do when camping – from exploring hiking trails to roasting marshmallows over the fire – so get out there and enjoy yourself!

Just remember to take some basic safety precautions (like letting someone know where you are going) and everything will be fine. Have fun!
